Here’s a homemade Creole seasoning mix that’s perfect for Shrimp and Grits, and other Louisiana-style dishes.

Homemade Creole Seasoning

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp paprika (smoked or regular)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp white pepper (optional, for extra depth)
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for heat preference)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 1 tsp celery salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl.
  2. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

This seasoning works great on shrimp, chicken, fish, gumbo, jambalaya, and even roasted vegetables.
